Welcome to the Kraft Meadows Intermediate School (KMIS) Athletics Website! We are thrilled to support your child's athletic journey. Here, you will find all the information you need about our sports programs for 6th graders, including details on sports seasons, registration, and important dates. KMIS student athletes will be participating with 7th and 8th graders from DLMS. All practices and events tentatively occur at Duncan Lake Middle School. We aim to provide a positive environment for all students to explore different sports, develop their skills, and make lasting memories. - Fall: Coed Cross Country (6th/7th/8th grades), Boys Tennis (6th/7th/8th grades)
- Winter I: None for 6th graders
- Winter II: Coed Wrestling (6th/7th/8th grades)
- Spring: Girls Tennis (6th/7th/8th grades)
Three Seasons:
KMIS 6th graders have the opportunity to participate in three sports seasons. This structure gives students more opportunities to try different sports and find their passions before entering high school.

FinalForms is a program used by both middle and high schools for parents to register their children for sports participation or tryouts. Registration on FinalForms opens on June 1. If your child is new to middle school sports, please visit the FinalForms website to get them registered. If your child is unsure about which sport they want to participate in, you can still complete the registration and leave the sport selection blank until a decision is made. Once a sport is selected, additional forms will need to be completed, and you will start receiving emails from the Athletic Department and coaches with important information.

All Kraft Meadows students participating in a school-sponsored sport must have an athletic physical on file. This physical must be completed, signed, and dated by a physician. Please upload your new physical to final forms.
School-sponsored sports that require an Athletic physical are Coed Cross Country, Coed Wrestling, and Boys and Girls Tennis. All physicals are valid for one year.
**IMPORTANT NOTE TO PARENTS!!! All physicals must be dated April 15, 2024, or after to be valid for the 2024-25 sports season. We cannot use a physical dated BEFORE April 15, 2024, per MHSAA rules.

Sports physicals are once again being offered at the High School and will be valid for the entire sports season. Alternatively, you can visit your own doctor; just be sure to bring the MHSAA physical form with you.

- Why: Sports physicals are required for Middle School and High School sports and are good for the entire sports/school year.

Conference Information
Conference Information:
KMIS/DLMS is a member of the West Michigan Middle School Conference (WMMSC). This conference is made up of the Central, East, Northeast, Northwest, South and Southwest Divisions. KMIS/DLMS is a member of the South Division along with Byron Center, East Grand Rapids, East Kentwood - Valleywood MS, Thornapple Kellogg (Middleville), and Wayland. In some athletic events, we will be crossing over with schools from other divisions.

What is FinalForms and how do I use it? FinalForms is the program used by both the middle and high schools for parents to register their children for sports participation or tryouts. Where can I get the sports physical form? You can print the MHSAA-approved physical form from the KMIS website under Athletics or pick up a copy from the KMIS office. Click here to access the form.
When must sports physicals be dated to be valid? Sports physicals must be dated April 15, 2024 or later to be valid for the 2024-25 sports season. Physicals dated before April 15, 2024 will not be accepted.
How do I submit the completed sports physical? Completed physicals can be uploaded to FinalForms at any time after June 1, or emailed to [email protected]. For fall sports, the completed physical needs to be submitted no later than August 21.
When do fall sports practices start? Fall sports practices will begin on August 26, immediately after school.
What is the athletic pay-to-play fee? The athletic pay-to-play fee is $75.00 per sport. If your child is on free and reduced lunch, this fee will be waived. Please contact Karen Sundberg at [email protected] for fee waivers. The pay-to-play fee payment portal on FinalForms will open after the first scheduled competition.
Which sports do not require tryouts? Coed Cross Country and Boys/Girls Tennis, and Coed Wrestling are not tryout/cut sports.
