Opening Night & Ribbon Cutting

Thursday, February 27, 2025

Ribbon Cutting Ceremony – 4:00 p.m.
Open House – 5:00 – 7:00 p.m.
"First Splash" in the Pool – 5:30 p.m.  
The public is invited to watch the ceremonial “First Splash” in the competition and leisure pools.
Caledonia High School swimmers will lead this special moment, joined by invited elementary students and senior citizens,
representing the multigenerational heart of our community.
Equipment and pools will not be available for use during Open House times.

Grand Opening Weekend Open House

Friday, February 28 – Sunday, March 2, 2025
Friday & Saturday: 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Sunday: 12:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.

The facility will be open for visits throughout the weekend. Visitors can also sign up for YMCA memberships and explore available programs.

Equipment and pools will not be available for use during Open House times.

Starting March 3, a membership will be required for access to YMCA programming. 
To make it even easier to get started, we’re waiving the membership join fee from February 20*–March 31.

*In-person membership sign-ups will begin on Thursday, February 27.

Cal Community Center

The excitement is building as we get closer to the opening of the new Cal Community Center! As the pictures below demonstrate, it is going to be a beautiful facility! 

The facility will be home to a wide range of programs offered by the Caledonia Resource Center, and through a partnership with the YMCA we will be able to bring even more opportunities to our residents. Whether you’re looking to join a fitness class, enjoy a swim, or simply engage with others in the community, the center will offer something for everyone. Here are answers to some commonly asked questions about our partnership with the YMCA:

Q1. Where can I get help with my YMCA membership?

A1. We’re happy to help!

• Interested in joining the YMCA? We’re excited to welcome new members starting March 3! In-person membership sign-ups begin on Thursday, February 27. If you have questions before then, feel free to call us at 616-855-9622—we’d love to assist you!
• Already a member? If you’re looking for more information on the 10% Caledonia Community Schools discount or any other question, please reach out to our Member Service Center at 616-855-9622.

Q2. I am eager to use the facility! How can I join? 

A2. Starting Thursday, February 27, the Cal Community Center will be open for in-person YMCA membership sales. Please note that while a membership is required for general facility use, it is not necessary for those participating in Caledonia Resource Center programs or school district activities such as swim meets.

Q3. Do local taxpayers receive a discount?

A3. Absolutely! There will be a 10% discount on the YMCA “branch only” membership rate at the Cal Community Center for taxpayers of Caledonia Community Schools. Please note that the YMCA has six other branches throughout the Greater Grand Rapids area and a full YMCA membership gets you access to all the branches, while a Cal Community Center “branch only” membership applies to the Caledonia Community Center location. 

Q4. Will Silver Sneakers memberships be accepted?

A4. We understand how important the Silver Sneakers program is to many of our community members. While Silver Sneakers memberships won’t be accepted at this facility, there are discounted rates for seniors. Additionally, the YMCA is partnering with FitOn Health and adding One Pass in 2025, offered through Priority Health. If you have additional questions about either of these plans, please reach out to your respective health plan provider
