Sun Bucks: Summer EBT Benefits for Families

Sun Bucks: Summer EBT Benefits for Families
Sun Bucks (formerly known as Summer EBT) is a program designed to help families purchase nutritious food for their school-aged children during the summer months when school meals are not available. Eligible families will receive $120 per child to use toward groceries this summer. Many families will be automatically enrolled and do not need to apply. This important support helps ensure children have access to the food they need all year long.

Join us May 17th for our 4th annual Brian Reiffer Addiction Awareness 5K Run/Walk. Hosted by Max Effort Performance and Butcher Block Social, this 5K run/walk is a way to raise awareness related to addiction and overdose as well as raise money to support local agencies and families impacted by addiction. We have had around 200 participants each year and have raised over $35,000 to support local agencies such as The Kinzler Family First Foundation and Elle's Place as well as establishing a trust to support Brian's 4 children. Brian Reiffer was a well-known and loved Caledonia community member. Brian lost his battle with opioid addiction in July of 2021, leaving behind 4 children, 3 sons, and a daughter. As a family, we have experienced firsthand the trauma associated with losing a son, brother, brother-in-law, and father. Going into our 4th year without Brian, we continue to find ways to share information related to drug abuse and overdose as well as educate community members, friends, and family on support systems available to them. This isn’t just a 5K—it’s a movement. A chance to raise awareness, provide support, and honor those affected by addiction and overdose. Every step we take together helps to support local agencies, families, and individuals in need. And for many, this is a moment to celebrate sobriety and inspire hope. If this event reaches just one person—one friend, one father, one daughter—and offers them the support they need, then we’ve made a difference. We’d love for you to be part of that change! https://runsignup.com/Race/MI/Caledonia/BrianReifferAddictionAwareness5KRunWalk. Check out our flyer for more information.
